The worlds been a bit all over the place lately. The feeling on the ground is that we are emerging from a generation-defining time period, Covid-19 is becoming chatter of the past and we are all making moves to reclaim that dance floor. Day to day life has started to become fairly reminiscent of a life before Covid and our hearts were beginning to mend when the news that an invasion of Ukraine was being undertaken by the Russian government, spearheaded by Vladamir Putin.
The pictures and videos of day to day life in the war torn cities of Ukraine have become a stark reminder that although we have been granted a semblance of normality, this is not the same for everyone around the globe. Ukraine is asking for help and the world is answering. The outpouring of support on social media and the numerous food and supply drives that have been happening around the world are inspiring, with people doing whatever they can to help out in a time of desperate need.
Dance music has been uniformly behind the struggles of the Ukrainian people, with fundraising nights happening all around the world.
We thought it would be the correct thing to do to run a night in aid of those who need help in this precarious time.
Fresh off the back of a thunderous set in the seediest bathroom in Berlin, HOR, darkmavis returns to head up an all Irish lineup taking over the Soundhouse in Dublin on the 4th of April. The event will take place over two rooms, showcasing some of Ireland's rising stars, including our very own Barney, and will be streamed live on Project Radio to allow those not in Dublin to get in on the action.
Apart from darkmavis and Barney, we have; Elaxendar, Killian Stuart, Aaron Brooks, Rico, SAZ and Ruanaidh - All DJ’s who have proven themselves around the Emerald Isles and are raring to go for this event.
The event will be donating 100% of proceeds to the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal, so get down, do your part and have some fun.
