From doing two massive sets for Hör to playing headline gigs all around Ireland, Shannen Blessing has really been making a name for herself in the Techno scene. Her outstanding sets showcase her knowledge in fast-paced groovers and heavy Techno weapons. Having just played a b2b with Mav666 at Life Festival, Shannen is definitely one to watch and I have no doubt we will be seeing lots more of her in the next few years.

Following on from your powerful set at Hör, can we expect to see you playing there again sometime?

Yeah, another date has been locked in. Keep an eye out!

2. What is one of your go-to tracks that you play in your sets?

Lula - XTC. I play this track a lot. It has a special place in my heart.

3. Ireland is packed with talent in the Techno scene. Is there anyone in particular that you’re enjoying at the moment?

Mav666, Alt8, MELTX, Pageone, Aero, Flores, SpedNed, Yasmin Gardezi, Symøne, SONIA.

This was a tough one to answer because the list goes on & on, but lately, I’ve been enjoying listening to mixes & releases from these artists. It’s also great to see everyone grow and do so well.

4. What would be your dream venue to play in?

Berghain.

5. Fl studio or Ableton?

Ableton.

6. You’ve released seven productions so far; can we expect more to come in 2022, maybe even a Shannen Blessing EP?

Yes, I’m working on a few projects at the minute and have more releases planned. The goal for the end of this year is to release an EP for sure!

7. Has DJ’ing always been your passion?

I always loved music since a young age, but only since the age of 18, I thought about taking up DJ’ing as a hobby.

So, I’ve only been doing it three years - but in those three years, it has been my main focus & passion! I’m very lucky to be doing what I love at such a young age.

8. What are your top 3 favourite venues to play in Ireland?

Index, Dublin Cyprus Avenue, Cork Pharmacia Bar, Limerick

9. Who are your influences for your style of sound?

Narciss, Frederic, DJ Heartstring, Kaiser.

10. If you had to pick one goal to set for yourself in the future what would it be?

One of my main goals for the future is to have an EP released on vinyl.
